MySpace - Social Networking Success
So have you got one? A MySpace that is! Do you openly admit to succumbing to the latest success in networking, or are you a closet MySpacer? Maybe FaceBook is more your style?
Admit to owning one or not, love them or hate them, they are hitting the cyberwaves like a storm. Everyone from movie stars to sportsmen, to businessmen to even politicians have a MySpace page. Even the Prime Minister of Australia has a MySpace page.
So what makes them so attractive? I think it’s because it brings us onto common ground. Rather than only knowing what the media has to tell us, you can hear it from the horses mouth. Information is more informal. Story are more personal. You get to socialize with likeminded people & make new friends, aquaintances & contacts.
But why now? Social networking has been around for years. Why is it that something like MySpace has become so popular, and what made it such a lucrative investment?
I don’t think people are as scared of the Internet as they used to be. I think over the years that peoplehave become more comfortable with the pitfalls associated with it,and are a little more net savvy. I think the platforms are better monitored & the software running them is more secure.
Whatever the reason…. social networking can be fun. So if your not already doing it…. What’s stopping you??
